You must know that stress, whether physical, mental or emotional, is sure to lead to some form of unwellness. Many studies have shown that being in a constant state of stress leads to increased risk of depression, anxiety, diabetes, sudden cardiac arrest, hypertension, reproductive problems and many more.
Now, the only real way to manage stress is by removing the stressor and allowing yourself to rejuvenate. However sometimes, simply removing the stressor seems quite impossible. In such an instance, you can still give yourself time to recover before you continue to find ways of figuring it out.
True rest shows up in many different ways. Practice rejuvenating activities like proper sleep, meditation, enjoying peaceful and quiet spaces, getting off your phone, enjoying true meaningful connection with loved ones, and many other activities that resonate positively with you.
Besides, every species on the planet need goes through periods of rest for survival; animals sleep and hibernate, trees shed off and flower seasonally, so why won’t you honor your need to do the same? Don’t ever feel guilty for needing to rest, and don’t rush the rest either.
