Pearl of Health Hospital a healthcare delivery model

6th August, 2025 a study tour was organized for a delegation from Ethiopia and Malawi National Health Insurance Schemes with the aim of learning from Zambia’s practical experience in the rollout and management of its national health insurance system. The study tour will bring together delegations from ILO, Ethiopia and Malawi to participate in a peer learning and knowledge sharing hosted by NHIMA.
The National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA) of Zambia selected Pearl of Health Hospital to host as a Role model hospital the study tour for delegates from ILO, Ethiopia and Malawi. The purpose of the tour is to provide delegates with insight into the hospital’s National Health Insurance Scheme service delivery model, administrative processes, claims handling systems and the overall integration of health insurance services in patient care.
Pearl of Health Hospital is a well-known multi-specialty hospital located in Lusaka, Zambia and was established in 1994. Its mission is to provide high-quality, affordable, and patient-centered healthcare. The vision is to strive to serve as a model for integrated health service delivery in Zambia.
And Pearl of Health Hospital started their journey with NHIMA since June 2021 as the first private hospital in Zambia being accredited by NHIMA.
