The Botswana Ministry of Health has completed a high-level benchmarking visit to Zambia’s National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA), seeking insights that could strengthen Botswana’s own journey towards sustainable Universal Health Coverage.

The session held at NHIMA Headquarters showcased NHIMA’s operations and highlighted the Scheme’s experience in administration, financing, accreditation, ICT systems, and benefit package development. The Botswana delegation also shared its own priorities as both teams discussed challenges, remedies, and key lessons to advance Universal Health Coverage in both countries.
