Back to School at NHIMA!

To mark Youth Day, NHIMA staff stepped back in time by wearing school uniforms to work. The celebration reminded us of the journey from the classroom to the workplace and the importance of supporting young people as they shape the future of our nation.

A Strategic Investment in Strengthening Health Service Delivery

The Acting Minister of Health, Hon. Cornelius Mweetwa, presided over the official handover of 31 motor vehicles procured by the Ministry of Health Zambia with support from the The Global Fund.

For the National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA), the vehicle will strengthen provider accreditation, inspection and monitoring functions reinforcing accountability and improving service quality as we advance Universal Health Coverage.

The vehicles have been fully registered, branded, insured and assigned, and are ready for immediate deployment. As emphasised by the Guest of Honour, these assets are a public trust and must be managed responsibly to ensure maximum impact for the Zambian people.

Together, through strong partnerships and prudent stewardship, we continue building a resilient, responsive and equitable health system for all.

NHIMA was proud to be part of the Nc’wala Traditional Ceremony in Mtenguleni, celebrating unity under the theme “Reconnecting Abenguni and Promoting National Unity and Love.”

From on-site member registration and information updates to live discussions and adverts on local community radiostations, we used this powerful cultural gathering to remind Zambians that to have health insurance means continuous access to quality healthcare.

Together, we celebrate our heritage and protect our health.
