GRIEF & LOSS GROUP THERAPY

Join us for Tend and Befriend, a five-hour group grief process in which you will explore and transform your experienced grief through expressive and creative arts and storytelling in a nurturing space. Expect to tend to grief without internal judgement and dismissal and begin to befriend the related emotions.

Using a variety of creative arts therapies—including visual arts, movement, and storytelling—we will access emotions that may be difficult to verbalise. Through narrative therapy practices, participants will have the opportunity to share their stories, reflect on their experiences, and find new meanings within their experiences of grief. We will create a supportive community that fosters healing through creative expression.

Our session is designed to be inclusive, welcoming all who are seeking a fresh, creative way to process their grief experiences. Whether you're experienced with group therapy or not, this is a space where you can engage with your emotions in a compassionate, supportive environment. No prior artistic experience is needed.

Date:12/10/2024
Time: 10hrs
Location: Silver Lining Health Care Ltd, MwembeshiRd/Luzi Rd - Northmead.

We encourage you to bring any personal objects, stories, or creative works that are part of your healing journey. These items can add a personal touch to your experience and enrich the collective journey of healing and transformation.

Dear friends,

Welcome to the month of October! We, at the Mental Health Association of Zambia, are delighted to have you as part of our community as we raise awareness for mental health this month.

October is an important time when we come together to foster understanding, support, and compassion for those affected by mental health-related challenges. It's a month dedicated to breaking stigmas, spreading knowledge, and promoting self-care and wellbeing.

During October, we have planned various events and activities to initiate meaningful conversations around mental health. From workshops and seminars to community outreach programs, we aim to empower individuals with the tools and resources needed to enhance their mental wellbeing.

We encourage everyone to participate actively in our initiatives, to educate themselves, and to extend a helping hand to those who may be struggling. Together, we can create a society that prioritizes mental health, where individuals feel valued, heard, and supported.

Remember, mental health matters, and it deserves our attention every day, not just during October. Let's work hand in hand to destigmatize mental health and build a more inclusive and supportive environment for all.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Together, we can make a difference.

With warm regards,

Mental Health Association of Zambia

Pastors, with due respect Mental Health is very much medical and as such needs either Psychologists, Social Workers or Psychiatrists to deal with. Your prayers are welcome but don't end there because faith without works is dead. Ask your members to proceed to get therapy.

Billy Zulu struggled with the addiction to Drugs for a period of over 20 years, He was introduced to Ma*****na, Co***ne, Heroine and Codeine by his friends whilst doing his secondary education which rendered him to drop out from his academic journey. He sustained his addiction through stealing and manipulating his close family members and befriending people from wealth families. He has been to prison three times between 2013 and 2021 because of either stealing or being in possession of narcotic drugs. He also suffered from an illness of which substance abuse was a major predisposing factor. On 15th September 2021, Billy joined the Family Liberty Sober Home and received addiction treatment for a period of 9 months where he rededicated his life to the care of Jesus Christ, he is now a 2nd Year student pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Theology at Kaniki Bible University.
Today on his Birthday, he is also celebrating 2 Years 3 Days Alcohol and Drug Sobriety to the glory of God.
