The Thrive Student Hub program has finally concluded after months of hard work, dedication and sacrifice. A huge congratulations to all the students that took park in the program, as they walk away with qualifications and exposure that will lay a foundation for them to compete in the modern job market.

Thrive Wellness hub is built on seeing people growing and excelling in all aspects of life, we call it, Thriving! As a result, this initiative was created to provide opportunities to those aspiring to work in the field of mental health or beyond by filling in the gap between theory from school and the practicality of the working world.

Happy to see the first cohort launched out into the world.

THE “THRIVE STUDENT HUB” HAS OFFICIALLY LAUCHED!! 🙌🏾🥳

This week Thrive Wellness Hub embarked on a new journey which aims to empower students at the University of Zambia with skills to screen and identify cognitive and behavioral problems within their student population and refer those in need of support to professional help.
It’s an exciting project that will see 5 University of Zambia students, recieve on the job training as we prepare to scale up professional resources in order to increase service provision within our society.

SU***DE IS PREVENTABLE DEATH.

If someone is suicidal, it's essential to take their feelings seriously and offer support and resources to help them through this difficult time. Here are some steps you can take to help:

1. Listen without judgment: Create a safe space where they feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings. Listen attentively and avoid criticizing or judging them.

2. Acknowledge their pain: Let them know that you understand their pain is real and that you're there to support them.

3. Encourage honesty: Ask open-ended questions like "How are you feeling?" or "What's been on your mind lately?" to encourage them to share their thoughts and feelings.

4. Validate their emotions: Let them know that their feelings are valid and that it's okay to feel overwhelmed or struggling.

5. Offer resources: Provide contact information for crisis hotlines like the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline.

6. Help them connect with professionals: Suggest they talk to a therapist, counselor, or psychologist, and offer to help them find resources or make an appointment. At Thrive Wellness Hub we provide culturally sensitive psychotherapy and counselling services.

7. Follow up regularly: Check in with them regularly to show you care and are invested in their well-being.

8. Encourage self-care: Support them in engaging in activities they enjoy, practicing self-care, and taking steps towards recovery.

9. Seek help if necessary: If they're in immediate danger, call emergency services or take them to the nearest hospital.

10. Take care of yourself: Supporting someone who's suicidal can be emotionally draining, so make sure to seek support for yourself as well.

Remember, helping someone who's suicidal requires compassion, understanding, and patience. By being a supportive and caring listener, you can help them feel less alone and more empowered to seek help.
