Did You Know? Keeping Your Water Cool Can Boost Your Flock’s Performance! 🐥
During the hot season, water temperature plays a crucial role in keeping your broilers comfortable and productive. When water becomes too warm, chickens drink less, eat less, and can easily become stressed — leading to slower growth and higher mortality.
Here’s a simple and effective tip:
Insulate your water tanks using a reflective thermal insulator such as foil. This helps reduce the amount of heat absorbed by the tank, keeping your water supply cooler throughout the day. Cooler water encourages your birds to drink more, stay hydrated, and perform better!
🚿 For farmers using drip lines:
It’s important to flush your lines every two hours during the hottest parts of the day. The water sitting in the pipes can heat up quickly, and flushing helps remove that hot water so your chickens always get a refreshing, cool drink.
Remember — cool, clean water isn’t just a comfort for your birds, it’s a key part of maintaining good health, growth, and feed efficiency.
