✨ Community Engagement Update ✨
Last Friday, our team had the privilege of visiting the Family Planning Department at Kanyama General Hospital, where we engaged with women and children in an interactive and empowering session.
During the meeting, we shared vital information on:
1️⃣ Introduction to Gender-Based Violence (GBV): What GBV is, its impact, and the different forms it can take in homes and communities.
2️⃣ Child Abuse: Understanding what constitutes child abuse and the many ways it can manifest.
3️⃣ Good Parenting: Practical examples of positive parenting practices that foster love, safety, and growth in children.
4️⃣ Reporting GBV: Guidance on where and how to report cases of GBV and information about where our organization can be found for support.
5️⃣ Counseling Services: We highlighted that we have qualified counselors available to support community members with their mental health and overall wellbeing.
We also distributed brochures to ensure that the information continues to reach beyond the session and can be shared with family, friends, and the wider community.
At the heart of our mission is the belief that knowledge is a powerful tool in breaking cycles of violence, building stronger families, and raising children in safe and supportive environments.
🙏 We thank the Family Planning Department at Kanyama General Hospital for opening their doors to us, and to the participants for their openness and engagement.
Together, we continue to build a community where families thrive in safety, respect, and dignity. 💜
