Some stories stay with you forever 🤍
Earlier this year, our NICU team received a newborn in a critical condition — severe hemolytic jaundice caused by blood group incompatibility. The bilirubin levels were dangerously high, and the baby’s hemoglobin was critically low on the very first day of life.
Situations like this can threaten the brain, the heart, and a child’s future within hours.
Through an exchange transfusion, our team carefully replaced the baby’s blood with healthy donor blood, reducing the bilirubin and stabilising the condition.
The baby improved, recovered, and was safely discharged.
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do — witnessing life move from danger to safety, and seeing the relief on a family’s face.
This is care. This is purpose. This is Medland.
