Malaria infection in humans caused by Plasmodium species is associated with a reduction in haemoglobin levels, repeatedly leading to anaemia. Plasmodium falciparum is a common parasite that is found in Zambia which causes the harshest and most profound anaemia, with a significant risk of death. This cannot be clarified simply by the direct destruction of parasitized red blood cells at the time of the release of merozoites, a process shared by all these species.Stay safe and prevent malaria.
