What begins as a dream can change the world. 💫

Ten years ago, Bill Austin and I had a vision — to create a place where hearing healthcare leaders could be educated, empowered and equipped to serve their communities. That dream became Starkey Hearing Institute Zambia.

Today, it's grown into a global movement, helping shape the next generation of hearing healthcare professionals, and the ripple effect is just beginning.

From the parking lot in Antananarivo to the global stage — Toky Arison's story is one I will never stop sharing.

We first met in 2013 at Starkey Hearing Foundation's second hearing event in Madagascar. Toky was just 22 years old, a young man who didn't know much about the world yet, but Bill Austin and I saw something in him instantly: a caring heart, a sharp mind and a deep desire to serve.

Our paths crossed because they were meant to. Toky joined the very first class of the Starkey Hearing Institute Zambia, and I've watched with pride as he's grown into a true world servant and a global citizen.

Today, he's leading our Institute program with the University of Santo Tomas, changing lives every single day through better hearing.

Toky, I will forever be grateful for the moment our lives collided. 🦋❤️

A service to Humanity is a service to God!

We had a successful hearing Screening at St Paul's in Kabwata, were we served over 300 people. Thank you to the congregation for the warm welcome.

What a wonderful opportunity to be featured in the magazine of Delta Zeta Sorority! DZ is a long time supporter of the which I service as Vice chair. The Foundation has donated over 2 million hearing aids to hearing impaired around the globe and has made a huge impact on those without access to hearing care. The Foundation has developed institutes to educate and train people in Zambia, El Salvador and Manila to become hearing instrument specialists so they can bring hearing care to their communities. The 350,000 DZ members recognize the work of this notable organization and their fund raising activities have contributed over 5 million dollars to the work of the Foundation.

Pope Francis was one of those lives.

He reminded the world that true strength is found in compassion and challenged us to care more, judge less and to see humanity in every person.

As we say goodbye, may we honor him not just in memory, but in the way we live — choosing kindness, choosing humility and choosing to lift others up.

What an unforgettable journey at the Starkey Hearing Foundation Champions Alumni Summit in vibrant Nairobi, Kenya! We came together under the powerful theme, "Believe, Belong, Become" uniting our diverse community of alumni from the Starkey Hearing Institute across 20 countries. The energy was contagious—from words like Phenomenal, Amazing, Explosive, Insightful, Memorable, Invigorating, Interesting, Extraordinary, and Belonging shared by our attendees, we clearly experienced something truly special. Together, we advanced our shared vision of better hearing healthcare and celebrated the spirit of togetherness and unity across borders.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our dedicated partners and our remarkable board of directors, with special thanks to Mr Bill and Mrs Tani Austin. Your unwavering support and visionary leadership have been the cornerstone of our success and the driving force behind our mission.
