The Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce is the largest of the Technical Education and Vocational Training institutions in Zambia. Graduating from Evelyn Hone should also make the graduates proud as a Physiotherapy practitioner because we can't talk about the History of Physiotherapy in Zambia without talking about Evelyn Hone College. The college was officially opened in October 1963, by Evelyn Dennison Hone, the last Governor of Northern Rhodesia. And Physiotherapy was one of the first health courses offered at this institution. The Bachelor Of Physiotherapy Degree programme at the University of Zambia, School Of Medicine, was later launched in 2001 together with degree programmes in Biomedical sciences and Pharmacy. This was the first degree programme in physiotherapy to be introduced in Zambia, as an extension of the diploma program at Evelyn Hone.
ZSP was Founded in 1972, and has been in existence for more than 50 Years. ZSP has been instrumental to the growth of the Physiotherapy profession in Zambia. Both Evelyn Hone and ZSP has been in existence for over half a decade, a milestone we greatly cherish.
ZSP will continue to foster it's core objective of promoting professional Physiotherapy training and practice, thereby, yielding standard health care to all clients.
Congratulations to all the graduates and we wish you all the best as you represent the Physiotherapy profession without compromising to all standards of health practices and ethics, as guided by the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
