Cholera prevention involves practicing safe food and water habits, such as drinking only boiled, disinfected, or bottled water and eating thoroughly cooked foods that are served hot.

It is also crucial to practice good hygiene, including washing hands frequently, and to ensure proper sanitation by cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and toilets.

For those living in at-risk areas, personal and community preparedness plans, potential vaccination, and immediate access to treatment options like Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) are important.
