Zambia's Education, Advocacy and Leadership for the Deaf Z.E.A.L.D. aims to better the life of the deaf youth in Zambia through the promotion of Education, Employment and Human Rights advocacy.

aims to improve the quality of life for Deaf Youth in Zambia through the promotion of Education and Employment, Human Rights advocacy and Leadership by developing partnerships with Nonprofit organizations, and between Deaf schools and Hearing schools, and by encouraging youth leadership in order to build Zambia as one community. Kaila and Timothy met Michael in 2014 and they have team up worked together by combining their passions in order to make Z.E.A.L.D a reality. As representatives of both Deaf and hearing world, these two sought out a way to bridge the two communities. Z.E.A.L.D.’s philosophy is one of equality, human rights and respect for all people, regardless of any status. It supports and promotes in its work the many United Nations conventions on human rights, with a focus on Deaf people who use sign language, and their friends and families. works with the aim of solidarity and unity to make Zambia a better place for all and empower Deaf youth to become knowledgeable leaders. Michael is current doing his Undergraduate at the University of Toronto

FAZ BOOSTS ZAMBIA DEAF SPORTS FEDERATION

The Football Association of Zambia has donated football kits to the Zambia Deaf Sports Federation for use at the Southern Africa Deaf Sports Confederation tournament to be held in Windhoek, Namibia on September 20.

The Zambia Deaf Sports Federation (ZDSF) will be participating in men's football and women's netball at the regional tournament that will also see participation from hosts Namibia, South Africa and Botswana.

ZDSF president Milungwa Mutemwa thanked FAZ for the donation, stating that it would boost the morale of the team as they would be donning the national colours.

Mr Mutemwa thanked the Ministry of Sports for the support availed to the federation and asked that other well wishers come on board to meet logistical expenses that were still being faced.

The football kits were handed over by FAZ technical director Lyson Zulu, who stated that the donation shows commitment to promotion of football development across the country.

On hand to receive were Mr Mutemwa, ZDSF vice president Wycliff Mukubesa and ZDSF board member Frankson Musukwa.
