At CURE Zambia, we believe in collaborations that help us serve our patients in the best way possible. By working together, sharing knowledge, and joining forces with experts from around the world. That’s exactly what happened when our Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) department performed Zambia’s first-ever Bone Anchored Hearing Implant (BAHI) surgery!
This milestone was only possible through the incredible partnership between Dr. Rebecca Chiffer, a Neurotology surgeon from Thomas Jefferson University, and our very own in-house ENT surgeon, Dr. Haben Brihanne. They were joined by Audiologists Dr. Sarah Lively and Dr. Karla Belcastro, whose expertise in hearing care further strengthened this procedure.
BAHI surgery is a game-changer for individuals with hearing loss who can’t benefit from traditional hearing aids. By placing a tiny titanium implant in the skull behind the ear, it allows a sound processor to connect externally restoring the gift of sound!
We are deeply grateful to God for partnerships that allow us to learn, grow, and enhance the care we provide to the children we serve. Together, we can do so much more!

"I’m not sure if I don’t like playing outside, or maybe I’m just too ashamed of what I look like,” Daniel once said.
After losing his father, a mysterious growth on his nose that started like a pimple and eventually shattered his confidence, keeping him from fully enjoying his childhood.
Until they were advised to come to Beit CURE Children's Hospital, Daniel underwent life-changing plastic surgery to reconstruct his nose and today, he plays outside with joy, no longer afraid of being stared at or being bullied. We thank God for the work he has began in our brave friend Daniel's life.
With renewed confidence, this bright first-grader is chasing his dream of becoming a pilot.
Special thanks go to our sponsors, partners and friends for making his healing possible!

When we think of surgery, we often focus on the surgeon’s hands, but there’s a quiet, life-saving presence in the operating room that makes the process smooth and seamless: anaesthesia.
For children undergoing surgery, anaesthesia plays a crucial role in ensuring they don’t feel pain, anxiety, or discomfort during procedures. It allows surgeons to perform delicate, life-changing operations while the child is safely and comfortably asleep.
But pediatric anaesthesia is not just about putting a child to sleep. It is a specialised field that takes years of study, experience, and careful monitoring. Our skilled anaesthetists work closely with surgeons and nurses to keep each child safe, stable, and pain-free before, during, and after surgery.
At CURE Zambia, we’re grateful to God for our incredible anaesthesia team, because behind every successful surgery is a child who didn’t have to feel a thing.

Meet Loveness , a true fighter with a beautiful smile and an even bigger heart!
When Loveness was born, the medical team hid her from her mother, Gloria.
“It was the first time a child was born like this in our community,” Gloria recalls. Loveness was born with clubfoot and missing part of her right leg, conditions that brought fear, stigma, and heartbreak.
But love and faith carried Gloria and her daughter through. After years of struggle, CURE Zambia, with support from generous donors, provided Loveness with life-changing surgery and later a custom prosthetic leg.
Today, 11-year-old Loveness walks proudly, goes to school without crutches, helps her mom at home, and dreams of becoming a pastor. “God is powerful, don’t be afraid. He sees your pain.” Loveness said with a smile.
Thank you to everyone who makes stories like Loveness’s possible through your prayers and support.

Play therapy is one of the important parts of the healing journey for the kids that we serve. At CURE we aim to ensure that every child with a treatable disability can reach their full potential through God’s hope and healing.
These therapies allow children to enjoy crafts and games, make new friends, begin to share their stories, and explore the love God has for them

"Just wait, you’ll see how she's walking with so much confidence once she walks into the chapel," Royce's mother told us. We are so happy for what the Lord is doing in Royce's life, she is now able to walk properly and her leg is straight just like the other one!
She persevered and showed strength through out her healing journey.
Join us today as we highlight Royce who is free of bowed legs. We thank God for everything.
Would you join us in helping make transformations like this possible for other kids that need of intervention just like Royce ? Click the link below-https://zambia.cure.org/donate/

Our Story

In 2004, CURE signed an agreement with the Zambian Ministry of Health to operate a pediatric teaching hospital specializing in the treatment and care of children living with physical disabilities. The Beit Trust, a UK-based charity, provided $1.5 million to support construction of the hospital as a centennial gift to the people of Zambia. The Zambian government donated a 60-acre plot of land for the hospital site. CURE Zambia opened in 2006.

CURE Zambia is one of the few hospitals in Zambia able to adequately address the surgical needs of children with disabilities in the country. The hospital campus is comprised of six buildings, housing 45 patient beds in the children’s ward and 16 beds in the private patients ward. The hospital also houses a chapel and spiritual center, three operating theaters, an outpatient clinic, an administrative building and a general services building. Services at the hospital are focused on pediatric orthopedics and reconstructive plastic surgery.

Through the work done at our hospital and at various mobile clinics, CURE Zambia is addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those who need help most.
