RAIN SEASON DISEASES OF CATTLE:

Many diseases that are influenced by the change in weather, the presence of water and increase of biting insects usually manifest in cattle.

Of all these, LUMPY SKIN DISEASE, THREE DAY STIFF SICKNESS and RIFT VALLEY FEVER are quiet worrisome.

These are all HAVE 5 THINGS in Common:
1) All are VIRAL DISEASES.
2) They are all transmitted by small biting insects.
3) They do not have a cure; neither do they have specific treatment.
4) They all cause significant production and reproduction in cattle.
5) They all can be prevented by giving the right Vaccination at the right time.

We would prefer that you vaccinate just before the rainy season, with specific Vaccines available for each of these diseases.
We recommend that you take precaution, starting by planning, making budget preparations and counting your animals that you need to protect from these 3 potential bad infections.

NOTE:
The rain season is the time of the year that all animals are meant to catch up on nutrition and the farmer is meant to reduce on feeding expenses – thus maximizing on production gains/profit per cow or per hectre.

“SICK ANIMALS DO NOT PRODUCE MUCH – OR REPRODUCE”

The rain season is also within our recommended BREEDING SEASON.
If bulls, cows, or both, have infection by anyone of these 3 viruses at this time of the year, the conception rates will drastically drop (which obviously reduces number of calves).

It’s important to note that Rift Valley fever is also a disease that affects human beings as well; so you do not want it anywhere near you or your family.

VACCINATE THIS OCTOBER-NOVEMBER and make a step in "positive proactive management" - of your cattle herd!.
