Enalapril
What is enalapril?
It is a prodrug belonging to a class of drugs known as angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors which have wide application in treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

INDICATIONS
- it is used as the first like agent in treatment of hypertension in Caucasians
- it is used in treatment of heart failure in combination with other drugs

SIDE EFFECTS
- common sides EFFECTS include; dry cough, hyperkalemia dizziness, headache and chest pain.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Due to the high risk of postural hypotension, advise patients not to stand up abruptly after lying or seated for a while.
-The possibility of a dry cough
