Christian Singles Listen
Dating is not a Christian concept. It is a worldly ideology that fosters romantic relationships independent of marriage, especially in recent times. There’s not one place in the Bible did anyone date, indulge in talking stages and romantic affair without marriage in view.
Christians court; we don’t ‘date’. The first thing a Christian man should state to a Christian woman of his interest is marriage. Many modern women will find this off putting and cringe, because of the contemporary independence of romantic affairs from marriage.
We are not called to be boyfriends and girlfriends; we are called to be husbands and wives. This contributes to the leading cause of avoidable heartbreaks amongst Christian younglings — getting into romantic relationships without strong marital readiness, or at least, the intention.
Call me old school, but many times old school sustains and brings order. I’m of the personal opinion that Christians shouldn’t get into romantic relationships if they don’t have marriage in view in at most 2 years to come, without the disruption of unforeseen circumstances.
