LIFE WITHOUT

FIBROIDS

THE UTERINE FIBROID EMBOLISATION PROCEDURE

During the Uterine Fibroid Embolisation (UFE) Procedure an interventional radiologist inserts a thin catheter into the radial artery through a tiny hole in front of the wrist. Specialised x-rays are used to guide a micro-catheter into the uterine arteries that supply blood to the fibroids. Tiny particles are then released through the catheter which occlude the blood supply to the fibroids, which in turn causes them to become inactive and shrink.

Step 1

A thin tube (catheter) is placed in the radial artery of the wrist which is advanced into the blood vessels that supply the uterus.

Step 2

Tiny particles are then infused into the blood vessels supplying the fibroids

Step 3

The fibroids, now starved of their nutrient supply shrink. Periods improve immediately. The procedure is tailored to the individual patient.

Why Choose Uterine Fibroid Embolisation

Uterine Artery Embolisation is a permanent treatment for fibroids that provides significant or total relief from fibroid related symptoms. It requires an overnight stay in hospital. The risk of recurrence of fibroids after Uterine Fibroid Embolisation is very low. This procedure can only be undertaken in a hospital with a specially equipped angiographic theatre by an interventional radiologist who has undergone the appropriate specialist medical training. The patients are asleep during the Uterine Fibroid Embolisation Procedure (sedated) but they do not require ventillation or a general anaesthetic.

According to the WhatsApp's updated FAQs, the instant messaging app will no longer work for some of Android and iPhone users after February 2020. Do you use one of these phones?

Some months ago WhatsApp announced that the app will not stop working on Windows phone by the end of this year. This came as a shock to many Windows phone users across the world as the Facebook-owned instant messaging platform aka WhatsApp is an integral part of everyone's life today. A day without WhatsApp is difficult to imagine. WhatsApp now brings bad news for some Android and iPhone users. According to WhatsApp's updated FAQs, the instant messaging app will no longer work for some of Android and iPhone users after February 2020.

The WhatsApp FAQs clearly informs that all Android phones running on Android 2.3.7 operating system and iPhones running on iOS 7 will not support WhatsApp February 1, 2020, onwards. The updated FAQs noted that users of Android phones running on Android 2.3.7 version and iPhones running on iOS 7 "can no longer create new accounts, nor re-verify existing accounts" after February 1, 2020. The Facebook-owned instant messaging platform further notes that the decision to end WhatsApp support for these Android phones and iPhones will not affect/impact a lot of users.

WhatsApp further notes that users with very old Android phones and iPhones will be the only ones who will be affected this. Considering most smartphone users change their phones in some years, most Android phone and iPhone users need not worry as WhatsApp will continue to work on their phones.

WhatsApp is asking users to use phones that run on Android 4.0.3 or later software version so they are not impacted with the stoppage of service. For the iPhone users, WhatsApp says that phones running on iOS 8 or later should be used to continue the journey with WhatsApp. In the latest/updated FAQ WhatsApp also asks users to use phones running KaiOS 2.5.1+, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2. ZAMBIA is suffering and hungry because of poor leadership hence it being ranked among the four hungriest countries in Africa, Socialist Party 2021 Presidential candidate Dr. Fred M’membe has charged. And Socialist Party Deputy General Secretary Dr. Cosmas Musumali reports that about 30 people dressed in police uniform today raided Dr. M’membe’s house in Shiwangandu.

During the rally at Nsansa grounds in Chimwemwe in Kitwe Mmembe said ‘Tatuletekwa bwino efyo tukwatile insala. Zambia is fourth hungriest country in Africa after Chad, Central African Republic and Madagascar. If it was Soccwr we could have qualified to semi finals,” he said.

M’membe bemoaned the social inequality existing in the country with the rich oppressing the poor. He’s called on the poor people to rise up because what they cannot do, no one can do for them, adding that Zambians must be strong as the fight to free themselves won’t be an easy one.

M’membe called for vast investment in agriculture but that for this would be meaningless without education and good health for people to be productive. He said ‘there can be no decency in not having decent housing, decent jobs, decent meals. The suffering we endure is not God ordained but human made and its only our efforts, our early struggles which will remedy this. The suffering we are enduring and can only be corrected by you the suffering by taking your destination and become part of the leadership’.

Meanwhile Dr. Musumali, on the party page posted that about thirty people dressed in police uniforms this afternoon raided the home to Dr. Fred M’membe in Mwika Village in Shiwangandu District.

Foreigners will be required to have their simcards for mobile phones usage registered for only 90 days according to new measures announced by Zambia’s information and technology regulator on Tuesday.

The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority said it has directed all mobile phone service operators to amend their records in the simcard registration database for foreigners, refugees and citizens in order to sanitize mobile subscriber information registration and reinforce security in the Information and Communication Technology sector.

Edward Mulenga, acting manager-corporate communications said among the new requirements were that all foreigners will have their simcards activated for only 90 days regardless of usage.

He said in a statement that foreigners who would want to have their simcards registered for more than 90 days will have to provide proof of longer stay in the country.

He said foreigners will also be required to register their simcards using addresses of where they are lodging, inviting entity or their employers and have a mandatory entry in the nationality field of the sim registration dataset.

The deadline for implementation of the new measures is effective June 30, 2019, he added.

The regulator has also directed mobile phone operators to start preparing for biometric capture of all their subscribers with effect from Jan. 1, 2020 and that the regulator will also introduce biometric standards to be followed by all operators.

The operators have also been directed to conduct a cleanup of their simcard registration database in order to get rid of inactive subscribers. Enditem

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Media Director Sunday Chanda says President Edgar Lungu must be commended for allowing these investigative agencies to operate without any undue influence.

Reacting to the latest published Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) trends report for 2018, Chanda said President Lungu has demonstrated unparalleled political will in the fight against corruption.

“We also are aware of a deliberate ploy by some to paint the PF Government to paint the ruling Party as corrupt by any standard without looking at the great strides made in protecting the public’s resources,” Chanda said.

Chanda said there has been a number of reforms and independence granted to law enforcement agencies to pursue corruption related cases.

He said any attempts to drag the President into interfering with investigative wings will be viewed as a deliberate ploy by those who seek to misrepresent the truth which PF stands for.

“As opposed to maligning the Head of State in this regard, Zambians of good judgment must commend the President for allowing institutions to operate within the confines of the law,” said Chanda.

Kambwili refuses to resign from PF, labels Harry Kalaba a Pretender and Deceiver
Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili
National Democratic Congress consultant and rebel Roan Constituency PF member of parliament has said that he will not follow the example of former Bahati Constituency Member of Parliament, Harry Kalaba and resign from the ruling Patriotic Front Party.
In a telephone interview, Mr Kambwili alleged that Mr Kalaba resigned his position as Foreign Affairs Minister in 2018 after learning that President Edgar Lungu was scheduled to fire him.
Kambwili, who was challenged to resign from the ruling party and vacate the seat by PF Secretary General Davies Mwila just like Harry Kalaba did on Tuesday instead of clinging to his seat through the courts, said he would not do so because he was not a pretender and deceiver.
“Tell Mwila, the PF and whoever, that I am not a copycat, I am not a pretender, I am not a ‘chancer’ and I am not a deceiver. I cannot, in all my political life, know that tomorrow I will be fired, and then resign two days before,” he said. “I can never do that because that is deceiving the people.”
“I cannot be expelled today, and tomorrow I go in public that I have resigned. That is deceiving and being a chancer, hoodwinking the people to believe that you have integrity. I am a very straightforward politician. I believe in calling a spade a spade and not a pick for the sake of impression,” he said.
“Those that can deceive the people by resigning when they knew that there was a letter for them to be fired from government must not be role models because such people are deceivers. And by the way, when you go to all the ministries where I have worked, when I was removed people became sad. The mood at the ministry was low as they said ‘we have lost a leader, a brother’ but ask others wherever they worked when they were removed and resigned people celebrated, including their own drivers and secretaries.”
Mr Kambwili, in reference to Mr kalaba,
