HPV: What you should know 👇🏽
HPV (Human Papillomavirus) is a very common virus, and most sexually active people will come into contact with it at some point in their lives. It is mainly spread through sexual and intimate skin-to-skin contact.
There are many types of HPV:
• High-risk types (such as 16 and 18) are linked to cervical cancer and other cancers.
• Low-risk types (such as 6 and 11) usually cause ge***al warts and are not cancer-causing.
The important thing to know is that HPV often has no symptoms, so you may feel perfectly fine while the virus is silently causing changes in the cervix.
That’s why screening and HPV vaccination are so important — they help detect problems early and prevent cervical cancer before it starts.
