WHY CHOLERA | WHY DIRTY ENVIRONMENT.
Some facts you need to know to why we usually have cholera almost every year is that every citizen thinks that it’s the responsibility of the government today or tomorrow to protect, prevent them from getting infected and also to promote the hygiene behaviors and activities. If that’s what WE think it’s a LIE.
One thing I have come to notice is that most people or most of us our upbringing wasn’t alright including our parents, grandparents and great grandparents, and we also transfer these morals to our children and our children’s children in terms of how to safeguard the environment, human wellbeing and wellness and also the impact it can cause.
It’s like there is something wrong and missing in the education system which should help us from young age/nursery school up to University/College level to mould and re-mould the way people/citizen/inhabitants/residents perceive the whole “health system” thing, people are been forced to live healthy and care for the environment while in the actual sense we should willingly be in forefront to do it. When you look at the empty bottles, plastic bags and all other stuff all around the place/market/streets/drainages/communities, you will know that people have failed to take up responsibility of safekeeping/safeguarding the environment and public vicinity. As an individual let sink in your mind that the environment will never change without YOU, the status of your environment is because of YOU, in Bemba we say that akabwa kasengula ipokekele meaning “the tail of the dog cleans it’s environment” don’t mind my translation but I believe you get it right.
People don’t know why every government tends to enforce the removing of street vendors from sensitive premises and what I think is that the government should educate people before removing them, build them well modernized business facilities and make them aware of the consequences of their decisions and actions about this issue of street vending!
Fighting CHOLERA and any other paralogy/virology/toxicology/ecology disease is everyone’s RESPONSIBILITY.
Don’t litter 🚮 plastic bags, bottles and other items that pollute the environment, atmosphere and water find yourself a bin, rubbish pit/pitcher, if you can’t find it close to you, carry it home I believe each one of us where we reside we have rubbish bins🗑️ or pit/pitcher. Don’t defecate and urinate anywhere find a safe/intended place to do so.
