Did you know?

A cleft lip happens when a baby’s upper lip doesn’t fully form during pregnancy, leaving a small gap or split.

Why does it matter?

Without treatment, children may struggle to feed properly, which can lead to malnutrition. As they grow, many also face low self-esteem and emotional pain because of their appearance.
But here’s the good news!

At CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, a cleft lip can be repaired completely free of charge through surgery.

This life-changing operation not only helps children eat and grow well but also restores their beautiful smiles and confidence.

At CURE Zimbabwe, we provide cleft lip surgeries at no cost to them or their families.

To schedule an appointment, please send the child's information via SMS or WhatsApp: +263 772 696 481, or email us at zw.info@cureinternational.org. You can also call us at +263 867 719 2320.

Meet Joseph. He’s 12 years old and was born with bowed legs, his knees curved outward, leaving a noticeable gap between them. At first, his father, Bhaudhi, believed Joseph would eventually outgrow the condition.

But he didn’t. The pain worsened, walking long distances became difficult, and his dream of playing soccer slowly faded as he watched his friends from the sidelines.

Then hope arrived. A co-worker told Bhaudhi about the free, life-changing surgeries offered at CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe. For a family living on a teacher’s salary, it felt like an answered prayer.

Today, Joseph is running on straight legs, pain-free, confident, and smiling.

Shantel briefly pauses her Bible reading as Nurse aide Ropa gently makes turns on her frame. Born with bowed legs, a condition where the knees angle outward, leaving a gap even when the ankles touch. During her time in the hospital, she has been immersed in Bible teachings, prayer, and a daily dose of personal growth in God’s Word, all of which have strengthened her spirit as she heals.

Precious is a bright five-year-old girl who was born with a clubfoot on her right foot, a condition that makes the foot turn inward. After her mother heard about CURE Zimbabwe from her sister, she quickly booked an appointment, a decision that opened the door to sponsored surgery and life-changing care.

While recovering in the hospital, Precious had the chance to recite a poem in the playroom, sharing her dream of becoming a Biomedical Engineer. To her delight, she later met the real Biomedical Technicians who work at the hospital. They welcomed her with open arms and even gave her a mini experience of their work. For the first time, Precious got to see what Biomed professionals do, and her dream felt a little closer than before.

CUREkid Menelisi took some time to practice her writing on the CURE Zimbabwe Playroom whiteboard:

"I love CURE Children's Hospital.
The doctors and nurses are kind.
We are teached to love God."
