E'Pap Zimbabwe

E'Pap Zimbabwe Affordable nutrition now available in Zimbabwe On top of that not many in Zimbabwe can afford to eat 3 healthy meals a day. What is e’Pap?

e'Pap Making the Difference
An Innovative approach to affordable and complete nutrition

e’Pap Technology - Good Nutrition is the key to life. A balanced diet brings to mind a plate of food with a variety of vegetables, healthy proteins and unrefined carbohydrates. But, due to current methods of agriculture and food processing, the nutrient content of most foods has decreased dramatically. e’Pap p

roducts contain 28 micro and macro nutrients and just one portion per day will help return the body to nutrient repleteness. e’Pap contains some of the most advanced bio available nutritional chemistry known to mankind. Normally such technology only gets into the mouths of the “rich” through expensive pharmaceutical tablets. Uniquely, e’Pap cost effectively delivers the same nutritional chemistry into the mouths of the poor and those most vulnerable at an affordable price. Addressing micronutrient deficiencies can help change the future road map of our communities. e’pap is 27 times more nutritious than refined mealie meal! Affordable daily nutrition now available to communities in Zimbabwe
You are what you eat. Even if poor people are able to fill their stomachs they will remain nutrient deficient because much of the food they eat has had most of the natural nutrients removed. Nutrient deficiencies affect our health and are a major contributing cause of poverty. These same nutrient deficiencies make it impossible for our children to get a proper education and to grow into productive citizens. There can be no sustainable development in our economies in Africa unless all citizens participate, which means nutrient deficiencies must first be addressed. It is an easy to prepare pre cooked, pre sweetened porridge that comes in a variety of flavours – it is ideal for the whole family. It is simply mixed with clean water or milk with one portion a day the equivalent of eating a ten course meal. For optimal effect children aged 6 months to 6 years need 25g of e’Pap a day, from 6 years to adult 50g is needed. E’Pap offers the best nutrition for less than 25c a day! Other e’Products
e’Shake is for people on the go and also useful for those with swallowing difficulties, such as oral thrush and mouth sores
e’Spread peanut butter
e’Soup is an instant drink or can be added to the pot at the end of the cooking process

e’Pap in Africa. e’Pap is being used today as a priority foodstuff for health and social service programs, as well as disaster relief efforts in 15 African countries. In addition to healthy weight gain, studies show that the consumption of e’Pap increases energy and concentration; helps better manage AIDS-related opportunistic infections; is good for the sick and improves health for all. E’Pap is balanced nutrient dense food that will boost the immune system of consumers
improving overall good health.

Tonight the e'Pap Zimbabwe team mourns the loss of a dear friend and colleague, Pastor Albert Chatinda. We celebrate his life, his family and his commitment - especially to the most desperate and needy. For many years we have worked with him at the Killarney Squatter Camp where he brought this poverty stricken and forgotten community both spiritual and physical support, always with a gentle smile. Fly high Albert, we shall not forget you and your work through Zimbabwe Victims' Support Fund will continue.

e'Pap Zim goes the extra mile!

With the rainy season now in full force and the drought finally broken, deliveries to the rural areas have become an even greater challenge. Last week we sent out nutritional support to over 3 000 children in Matabeleland North thanks to a very generous donor, but then it was how to get the product to the 15 different donations, many of them with dirt roads turned to deep, sticky mud and bridges unsafe for a large vehicle to cross.

But when the going gets tough, the tough get going and here is our team going back to old school transport.... and it works!

We have just celebrated World Children's Day and what a time to do that, as our fund raiser to help give children hope and the nutritional support to improve their lives, has now raised over R70 000, including some private direct donations.

This means we can guarantee no less than 25 000 meals of e'Pap will be distributed in Zimbabwe to physically and mentally challenged children, orphans and vulnerable children.

The fund raiser https://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/hope-in-a-cup remains live, so please remember that for less than the cost of an average pizza you can feed a child for a month and if under 6 years for 2 months!

There are so many to thank, but the first appreciation is to all of you who have opened your hearts to the less fortunate. Wow, what a journey this has been and how amazing are you!

The Joshua Nkomo National Foundation have very kindly facilitated this fund raiser and by doing so this Non Profit Organisation allows us to bring e'Pap into Zimbabwe Vat and duty free - without them it would have over a third more expensive. The funds are not going to the Foundation, but to a dedicated account set up by the e'Pap team in South Africa. In fact, all donations go direct to purchasing, shipping and delivering this wonderful product.

So many people have brought notice to the Kransdorff family in the comments on the fund raising page. The late Basil and his life partner, Rose Grealy Kransdorff, the team who brought e'Pap to the continent - what an incredible gift - thank you to you and your e'Pap Technology team.

A special thanks go to Arnold Kransdorff and his sister Esther McIntyre for their very generous direct donation along with their words which sum up the e'Pap work, "For science, and Basil and Rose’s better way of boosting the immune system - Arnold & Esther".

Last, but certainly not least, is the team who pushed to get this fund raiser launched.... a power women team, all from Bulawayo, all who keep their home town close to their hearts. Tessa Lifschitz, Shelley Kenigsberg and Glenda Fredman - you guys rock and your generosity of time and love means you have touched the lives of hundreds of innocent children - there are no words, but your inspiration means so much to so many. Siyabonga kakhulu.

2020 is nearly done and what a year it has been. We remain committed to supporting those less fortunate and once again thank you for your wonderful support.

The world is in chaos, but imagine if you were not able to provide more than one meal every two days for your family. Please help us to help the innocent children... those who are physically or mentally challenged, as well as the homeless living at the dump. Please support our easy to use backabuddy appeal and you all know that your money will go directly to the right place. Thank you all.

This has been a very sad week for all on the e'Pap team and the greater e'Pap family. Our precious Jeanne Louth passed away on Friday afternoon after a brief illness. She was the life of our little business, always compassionate, always ready to go the extra mile, always committed to helping the needy. Fly high our Jeanne and may you find peace. A long life to her family especially her beloved grandson, daughter Leah and partner Brian. Your warm presence leaves a great gap in our lives.

Thank you Nozizwe Mother Of Nations Trust for sharing e'Pap distribution at Ngozi Mine - the rubbish dump on the outskirts of Bulawayo. Over 200 children live with families at the dump, most cannot attend school as they have no documentation and certainly cannot afford school fees. Through the exceptional work of people at the Trust, Pastor Andie and his wife Ntombei they are bringing hope to this community with some support to schooling and of course their food distribution. Thanks to old Zim friends in the past few weeks we have been able to supply over 2 000 portions of e'Pap to the children 1 to 6 years to help them meet their physical and intellectual milestones, something which is so difficult when these children are so undernourished. Feeling grateful.

Today marks the end of "World Breast Feeding Week"

Joint message: UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta H. Fore and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
31 July 2020 Statement

The theme of World Breastfeeding Week 2020 is “Support breastfeeding for a healthier planet”. In line with this theme, WHO and UNICEF are calling on governments to protect and promote women’s access to skilled breastfeeding counselling, a critical component of breastfeeding support.

Breastfeeding provides every child with the best possible start in life. It delivers health, nutritional and emotional benefits to both children and mothers. And it forms part of a sustainable food system. But while breastfeeding is a natural process, it is not always easy. Mothers need support – both to get started and to sustain breastfeeding.

According to worldbreastfeedingweek.org….

The Cost of Not Breastfeeding

Globally, NEARLY 600,000 CHILDREN AND NEARLY 100,000 WOMEN DIE EACH YEAR DUE TO INADEQUATE BREASTFEEDING. These preventable deaths, combined with cognitive losses, and health system costs of inadequate breastfeeding leads to OVER $340 BILLION IN ECONOMIC LOSSES ANNUALLY. The data calls for immediate scaling up of financing and implementation of policies, programs, and interventions to meet the World Health Assembly’s breastfeeding target by 2025.

The e'Pap team has a dream to help support pregnant and breast feeding mothers with nutritional support to ensure mothers are able to give their children the best possible start in life. e'Pap is not for children under 1 year of age, but when the mother gets this support, both she and her child benefit helping to curb stunting, wasting and malnutrition.

Good luck to the team!

A great human, Michelle Keefe, from Africa Addict with a team will be walking to support Hwange Schools Project in their amazing work to help orphans and vulnerable rural children with feeding programmes, clothing, housing and education. Their walk will cover 126km from Victoria Falls to Msuna through some rugged terrain. Good luck to the team and please support this great initiative. https://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/michelle-keefe

Another post from SOS - wow this Gogo is 101 years old!

July has been a very humbling month as SOSCVZ embarked on a supplementary feeding programme in partnership with Imire Rhino and Wildlife Conversation Trust. We distributed Epap to underprivileged children, most of whom walk long distances to school in Hwedza. The distributions were done at Numwa and Chizungu Primary Schools. In the picture below gogo Clara (not her real name) 101 years old was so relieved to recieve highly nutritious E'pap porridge which will help to feed her two orphaned grandchildren.
