Our genes instruct us to become what we become.
For us black Zimbabweans, during childhood, our LCT gene actively instructs our digestive system to produce lactase, the enzyme that enables us to digest the lactose present in the milk that we drink.
God, in his wisdom, programmed our LCT gene to switch off when we become adults.
This is the traditional reason why fresh milk was reserved for children, not adults.
