The Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care, Hon. S. T. Kwidini, the Permanent Secretary, Dr A. J. V. Maunganidze and the entire Ministry staff extend their warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to Honourable Minister Dr Douglas T. Mombeshora on being honoured at ICASA 2025 in Accra, Ghana, for his outstanding leadership and commitment to accelerating the national HIV and AIDS response, which has positioned Zimbabwe as a regional model of progress. This award reflects the bold leadership of His Excellency, President Dr E.D. Mnangagwa, whose vision and support have been instrumental in shaping a resilient national health agenda. Under his guidance, Zimbabwe achieved remarkable milestones, including the successful hosting of ICASA 2023 and the attainment of the UNAIDS 95-95-95 adult targets.
We salute the collective efforts of all health workers, community health champions, implementing partners, and citizens across Zimbabwe.
This honour belongs to every individual who has contributed to the fight against HIV– from frontline clinicians to community volunteers whose dedication continues to save lives.
May this continental recognition further strengthen our resolve to build a healthier nation, deepen community engagement, and accelerate progress towards ending AIDS as a public health threat in Zimbabwe.
