This week, ZNFPC Midlands and the MoHCC successfully completed the Sayana Press self-care sensitization across the remaining 5 districts of Mberengwa, Zvishavane, Shurugwi, Chirumhanzu and Gweru. Through our collaborative efforts, we managed to come up with key actionable recommendations to ensure full roll-out of the self-care option across all the districts, empowering our communities to take charge of their health.

In his closing remarks at the end of the national dissemination of the Contraceptive Cost Recovery Framework, Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council Chief Executive Officer, Mr Farai Machinga thanked all stakeholders for their commitment and participation and urged all to cascade the information gained to ensure that the framework reaches its goal to strengthen domestic resource mobilisation, reduce dependency on donor funding and bolster national efforts to achieve self-reliance in the provision of contraceptives. This week, ZNFPC Midlands Province, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, with funding support from UNFPA, conducted District Sayana Press Self-Care sensitization meetings for Service Providers in Gokwe North, Gokwe South and Kwekwe districts. Sayana Press self-care improves autonomy, access, and continuity of contraceptive use.

As a province, we have begun implementing some of the recommendations made during the Learning Exchange Visits in the 2nd and 3rd Quarter 2025. These visits were an incredible opportunity to learn from each other to enhance the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) program.
