ASK THE MIDWIFE MONDAY
Is this really labour or just a false alarm? 🤰🏽

One of the biggest questions many mums ask is: “How do I know it’s time?”

Here are a few signs labour may be starting:

✨ Pains that become stronger and more regular
✨ Lower back pain that does not go away
✨ Water breaking
✨ Bloody show or mucus discharge
✨ Pressure moving lower into the pelvis

If the pains are becoming closer together and stronger with time, it may be more than just practice contractions.

Do not panic. Stay calm, monitor the signs, and come in for assessment when you are unsure. It is always better to be checked early than to wait too long.
