Congratulations on stepping into a brand-new year! What a whirlwind 2024 turned out to be—a year marked by both thrilling advancements and pressing challenges.
Globally, we are witnessing the rise of electric powered autos and unemployment - especially for old or low skilled roles. The
transformative rise of the Internet has leveled the job market play field and how it is reshaping the way we work, the continued evolution of on site power generation with solar (almost every roof has panels on it), electric plus self driving automobiles and hybrid work structures enriching workplace culture, and a staggering surge in irrigated commercial and small scale agriculture - impacting businesses of all sizes on the supply side.
Closer to home, our children are being forced to believe that a high pass mark in academics such as 5 O Levels or 20As is all that's required for a brighter future. But we all now know it's not true. How many have achieved this academic qualification or better, but are languishing at home, subsisting on their parents' resources, when - just yesterday, we all celebrated them as success stories?
Young people need skills to be marketable, to be gainfully employed - with or without the minimum 5 O Levels.
Because even those with 20As are sitting at home, frustrated, and feeling let down by a hostile eco system that simply charges so much for a piece of paper, a certificate without the requisite skill of any sort to generate personal income.
