A FEW HABITS THAT ARE BAD FOR YOUR HEART:
A little bit about me quickly, I work for a prestigious wellness spa in Avondale and because of the nature of the services we have on offer, I have had to push myself to learn as much as I can so that I understand what we do in order to help people better. Being a young woman, I appreciate the beauty that is within me and that which manifests even outwardly…but there’s always something one can do, within reason, to boost oneself. I use pre-makeup products, subtle make up and make sure I dress really well to make an impression. This is a good thing, right? What about my health though, how about yours? Do you ever think about the things that harm you and if there are habits you can change? While having fun on Facebook, wouldn’t it be better to tune in here every day to LEARN and contribute to how we can all look and feel better from the inside out?

Do you exercise? That’s great. But if you sit down for most of the rest of your day, that’s a problem. You need to be active all day long. Little bursts count. If you have a desk job, take a short walk every hour to boost your circulation, even if it’s just to your break room and back. Binge-watching your favourite show? Get up and dance, or do push-ups during the commercials.
2. KEEP WAISTING IT, SMH:
Did you know that belly fat is particularly risky for your heart? So get your tape measure and size up the inches around your waist. It's a red flag if it's more than 35 inches around for women, or 40 inches for men. Need to drop some inches? Take it step by step. Just visit Official: Slim Fast and you’ll get the help you need. Even losing a small amount of weight is good for your heart…and you’ll look good. Agreed?
3. IGNORING THE BLUES:
When you feel low, it’s hard to do things like exercise that are good for you. If you have felt down for more than a few weeks, talk to your doctor or a mental health professional. Unofa ne stress ukaita zvekutamba, there are so many cases of people dying because of depression. Talk therapy, exercise, and medication (if needed) can improve your mood, so you have more energy to take care of yourself.
4. INHALING SECOND HAND SMOKE:
I learnt this recently, someone else’s smoke could hurt your heart and blood vessels. You need to avoid it. So if you spend a lot of time with someone who isn’t ready to quit smoking, insist that they at least not smoke around you, whether it’s at home, work, or in your car. Your tough love may be the nudge they need to kick the habit, which will be good for both of you.
Enough for today, ciao!
