Integrated Psychological Services

Integrated Psychological Services A trust organisation offering a wide range of psychological services. Our concern as IPS is to promote good mental health rather than merely treating illness.

Integrated Psychological Services (IPS) is a trust organisation founded with the vision that children, youths and adults should live a meaningful and fulfilled life where they thrive in all spheres. IPS works in a bid to complement goal number three of the proposed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which states: “Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all." IPS was founded by a consortium of psychology associates and practitioners with exposure and vast interest in the fields of
neuropsychology, developmental psychology, community psychology, industrial psychology
and clinical psychology. The inception of IPS is based on the premise that: ‘We all have the strength inside us to find
solutions for the problems we face in our lives'. Consequently, IPS is deeply rooted in the philosophy of Positive Psychology, a relatively new field of psychology that is founded on
the belief that “People want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best
within them, and to enhance their experiences of work, love and play."

I would just like to put this out there. If your children are not around special needs children at school and have never been taught that not everyone is the same then maybe you could take 10 min tonight to explain this to them because even though they may not be around these children at school they will encounter them in their lives, as it should be.
In the light of recent events on the exclusion of a child who has autism from participating in a school trip and a child with Downs Syndrome being kicked out of dance class because she couldn't keep up, I feel the need to share this. There are boys and girls that nobody invites to birthday parties.
There are special kids who want to belong to a team but don't get selected because it is more important to win than include these children. Children with special needs are not rare or strange, they only want what everyone else wants: TO be ACCEPTED !! For all the wonderful children out there.
Can I ask a question? Is there anyone willing to copy and paste this post to their wall without sharing it, like I did for those special children out there. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💟🖤🤎🤍
Please teach you children to be kind to these beautiful children!❤️💙

Any serious illness can impact mental health and this month is breast cancer awareness month. Though this month is ending, already we can still keep the breast cancer awareness campaign going. For patients, caregivers, and their loved ones, going through cancer can be a devastating experience. Managing mental health needs is a crucial part of the treatment. Some of the mental health issues that they may face are depression, anxiety, or mental fog, and other forms of cognitive impairment that are side effect of chemotherapy known as chemo brain. Grief is also experienced.
Mental health treatment should be an integrative part of caring for both the patient and those around them.

Be aware, support others and get checked early!!!!

Today we celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child.

Though through out ones entire lifespan maintaining a healthy mental state should be a matter of concern, it is said that the adolescent stage is the most critical for girls. We should all support and empower young girls so that we positively influence the trajectory of their lives. Discrimination and harmful practices can cause serious mental health issues to arise at a later stage and for generations to come.

How can you help?

Make a difference and support the girl child!!!!!!
