Never underestimate any lump in your breast.

Never delay- not even with a day, seeking medical attention when you notice/feel a lump in your breast.

When a lump is removed from your breast make sure its taken to the laboratory to be checked if it's not cancers.

Incase no one has told you, you have a golden heart and thank you if you are funding your parent's medical bills. You are in a group of rare people. I see it daily, so yes rare. Diasporians, same - thank you.

What to do if you catch the current "flu" wave

1)Isolate yourself and avoid people so that you don't spread the infection
2)Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, you are losing water through fever, sweating etc (the goal is for your p*e to remain light yellow or clear, that's a simple sign you are well hydrated)
3)Rest, to help your immune system fight the flu infection.
4)Take Paracetamol 8 hourly to combat the fever, headache or body pains achiness associated with the flu.

You may also have to look for ginger and Citrus fruits which are plenty now, oranges, lemons, naartjies
for vitamin C to boost/help your body fight the flu

This is all because flu is a virus with no cure, you will naturally be okay within 7 days- maybe upto 14 days for this current wave. And since its a virus we also know amoxicillin or any other antibiotic won't work, and we should not abuse that other antibiotic injection. Both won't make you better but using them for flu is putting yourself and whole nation at risk of antibiotic resistance.

I have been flu- free the 2025, probably close to a year now.

I am daily at very risk of catching the flu, seeing tens of flu patients daily, worse now-winter.

My body is also susceptible to flu, it fights flu very poorly.

What have kept me flu-free is not vaccine although gives some protection, it is social distancing >2mtrs, lesson from covid era, it is the best preventative measure along with staying in aerated rooms when in presence of infected person.

Wearing mask? I always refuse putting on one, it gives a false sense of protection i think especially that nice surgical one we all wear.

FDA has approved a once in 6 months HIV prevention injection, Lenacapavir, found to be 100% effective according to trial done among women in Africa.

Milestone indeed, it overcomes key barriers such as daily pill burden, frequent clinic visits, and stigma associated with HIV prevention.
