DEPRESSION, a serious disease more common than we think, could have been what killed Soul Jah Love.

Listening to Jah Love songs, quite sad. The great musician expressed symptoms of worsening depression until his death, looks like he died before he died.

Songs like ndichafa rinhi, he expressed symptoms of severe depression like, thoughts of death(.. "regai ndizore"), feeling worthless and hopeless (.. chiiko chandingararamira") and guilty (.. "mwana handina ende munonditi ndiri wetsvina"), feeling sad, emptiness, feeling lonely (..."hapana kana achada kutamba neni"), preparing death, ("Kana ndafa ndoda mugoziva.."

Maybe, just maybe he lacked a listening ear which is what all people with depression want. Takura, another great musician, called for help publicly which was a huge great decision(many are suffering in silence), i hope he is getting the best help. Mental health is real only that we don't take it as serious this side of the world, could be work related, family etc.

The summary of the story is, once we hear of loved ones expressing these symptoms of depression including loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed we have to assist them in seeking professional help, just go to any hospital. At times one drinking more than used to, or turning to be a drug addict could also be a call for urgent help mentally. Asking straight question, " do you feel like killing yourself?" is an important question don't avoid it, if answer yes then assist the victim is seeking help immediately- by going to the nearest hospital or seeing the doctor.

I am aware of Diabetes, but Depression could have led to poor control of Diabetes.
