Sports have rules and regulations in place to ensure that it is safe, fair, and enjoyable for all participants. Similarly, life has boundaries that guide us towards the right path. AIDS Counselling Trust - ACT has been utilizing the platform of sports to educate and entertain people on HIV, STIs, GBV, cervical cancer, and friendly service provision. Violence is everyone’s business. If we continue to accept GBV and do nothing about it, we give males permission to treat females as inferior and unequal, and to abuse their human rights. Violence is a choice. People who use violence may try to excuse their behaviour by saying that they "lost control" or ‘couldn’t stop themselves’. But in reality these people do know how to control their anger. After all, they don’t assault their friends or people in authority. And when they do use violence against women, they are often careful not to leave bruises where people can see them The Egmont TrustRafiki Girls CentreYouth AdvocatesMavambo Orphan CareNational AIDS Council of ZimbabweShamwariYemwanasikana

We are in Lupane for a Learning and Exchange Visit to Wild4life/PZAT with Youth Advocacy Zimbabwe. Yesterday we met village heads and other local men we previously trained at Sigodo Business Centre on Gender Norms Transformation to hear their feedback, outcomes & help in tying down any lose ends. Once negative gender norms are challenged and community systems are strengthened through male involvement, then there will be an enabling environment for sustaining positive behaviour change and better health outcomes! # ACT against GBV The Egmont Trust Rafiki Girls CentreYouth Advocates
