👂💙 World Hearing Day 2026 – Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital

On 3 March, WizEar celebrated World Hearing Day with the theme: “From Communities to Classrooms: Hearing Care for Every Child.”

It was a day filled with care, learning, and hope. Parents, guardians, children, health staff, and community members came together to talk about hearing health and how we can protect our children’s futures.

✨ What made the day special:

• Children received free hearing aids and ear treatments.
• Families of children fitted with hearing aids shared their testimonies.

📸 Beautiful moments were captured, reminding us that every child deserves the chance to hear, learn, and thrive.

Together, let’s make hearing care a priority for every child—at home, in school, and in the community. 💙

Meet Tariro(not real name)and her teacher. Tariro grew up with hearing impairment which was a challenge for her, especially in school. Her teacher could see that she was a sharp child but was disadvantaged by her hearing loss. Tariro was brought by her teacher to an earcamp conducted by WizEar, she was diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss and was fitted with hearing aids. A few months later, she wrote her grade 7 national exams and passed.
Hearing loss can result in poor educational outcomes and ultimately low quality of life. Early intervention of hearing loss is crucial to help children reach their full potential in life!

We are proud to announce that, in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Childcare, with funding from Hear the World Foundation, we conducted a one-day training on Basic Ear and Hearing Health on July 3, 2025, for 30 healthcare professionals at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital. This training is part of our exciting project called “Scaling Paediatric Ear and Hearing Health in Zimbabwe” where we target children and intervene with hearing aids, creating a better future for them.
