We need to know that nutrition needs vary from gender and age. A healthy diet for a man is different from a healthy diet for a woman. So in essence what a middle aged male needs from his food for good health and growth differs from what a male baby, child, teenager or older person needs.
Without a healthy diet you are increasing the risk of having chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes amongst others and even mental health issues such as stress and depression.
As a man, your healthy diet will need to meet your unique physical needs, fit with your lifestyle and reduce your risk of diseases.
In a nutshell it is essential to be eating plenty of vegetables, fruits, wholegrains, lean meats, nuts and dairy foods to improve your diet. At the same time cutting down in foods that are high saturated in fat, added salt, added sugar and of course alcohol. Lastly, drinking plenty of water is good for your body. Good health is maintained by staying active!
