Baines Imaging Group- our story of over 60 years of service

Baines Imaging Group has been supplying diagnostic imaging services to Zimbabwe for over 60 years.

Over 60 years ago, The Medical Centre, in Wilson Street, now J Tongogara Street was built by a consortium of Doctors and included the Radiology Department equipped with 3 x general x-ray machines and a Fluoroscopy unit. The first Radiographers were recruited from England. Later the School of Radiography, affiliated with Society of Radiographers in the UK, was started at Mpilo Hospital and qualified local Radiographers were available. Our Staff are now all qualified with degrees in Diagnostic Radiography from the University of Zimbabwe and the National University of Science and Technology.

The Practice has kept up with the times, investing in new technologies as they became available and now boasts of 3 T MRI Scanner, 16 slice CT Scanner, Colour Doppler Ultrasound and general x-ray unit. All units are connected to the PACS system of the Baines Imaging Group. The PACS system is a robust enterprise based one which allows the radiologists to report from any site. Our radiologists are internationally trained and certified and include Dr Kirtkumar Naik (Neuro Radiologist), Dr Annie Ndlovu (Paediatric Radiologist) and Dr Thokozani Sibanda (Mammography and CT Radiologist)

We have endeavoured to provide first world surroundings for our patients and to remind us of our mission to provide efficient, caring service.
