TWISTED YOUR ANKLE? DON’T WALK IT OFF!

An ankle sprain can happen in seconds—but improper care can lead to long-term problems.

Common causes:
✔ Sports injuries
✔ Walking or running on uneven surfaces
✔ Wearing unstable footwear
✔ Sudden twists or falls

Signs of an ankle sprain:
⚠ Pain when standing or walking
⚠ Swelling and bruising
⚠ Limited movement
⚠ Tenderness around the ankle

What should you do immediately? (R.I.C.E Method)
✔ Rest – Avoid putting weight on it
✔ Ice – Apply ice for 15–20 minutes
✔ Compression – Use a bandage to reduce swelling
✔ Elevation – Keep your foot raised

he Mechanism: Tight calves from sitting with your toes pointed down all day. When you stand up, that tightness yanks on your heel bone.

That first step out of bed in the morning feels like stepping on a nail? That’s your fascia screaming because your calves tightened up like a rope overnight while you slept.

You don't have to live with that "stone bruise" feeling on your heel. It's not a bone problem; it's a tight muscle problem.

Simple Hack (The Water Bottle Roll): Keep a 500ml water bottle (or a 2L plastic coke bottle filled with water) under your desk. While typing, take your shoe off and roll the arch of your foot over the bottle for 2 minutes per foot. It loosens the fascia.

Simple Hack (The Stair Stretch): At the office staircase, stand on the edge of a step and drop your heels down. Hold for 30 seconds. Do this before lunch to keep the calf loose.

The "Morning Routine" Fix
Do you crawl out of bed every morning because your back is locked up? 😫

Here's the mistake: You're going from 0 to 100. After sleeping, your spinal discs are slightly more hydrated (full of fluid) and stiff. The moment you bend forward to put on socks or stand up, you're squeezing that fluid against sensitive nerves.

✅ The hack: Before you even sit up, roll onto your side. Let your legs hang off the bed and use your arms to push yourself up like a log. You keep your spine in a neutral position and avoid that painful morning crunch.
