                                        Over the weekend, Junior Parliamentarians from Hurungwe, Mudzi, Chiredzi and Harare engaged with Senior Parliamentarians from the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Child Rights โ submitting a powerful motion calling for urgent national action to end child labour and child trafficking.
 Senior Parliamentarians pledged to push the motion in the Parliamentof Zimbabwe, ensuring children's voices are represented at the highest level of decision-making.
Key asks from the Junior Parliamentarians included:
๐ Stronger law enforcement against perpetrators
๐Increased community awareness
๐ Strengthened child protection & safeguarding systems
๐ Closer collaboration between Junior & Senior MPs
๐ Higher budget allocation for child protection
๐ Improved government monitoring & reporting
This engagement is part of our  EU๐ช๐บ-funded Fighting Child Labour and Child Trafficking Project, implemented  in partnership withZimbabwe Environmental Law Association, Zimbabwe National Council for the Welfare of Children (ZNCWC) and Coalition Against Child Labour in Zimbabwe. Our partner ZNCWC, working with the Zimbabwe Youth Council (ZYC) ensured Junior MPs are equipped to lead this advocacy.
