Yesterday session key take ways:

1. Track your cycle
Others use apps like the flow app then there are others just know the estimate dates .Then recognizing when mood changes typically occur helps you to prepare and respond with intention

2. Name your feelings
Instead of saying “I feel off” or saying “hameno zvandiri kungonzwa soo”🤣try “i feel overwhelmed “ or “I feel irritable “. Naming emotions reduces their intensity and gives you clarity

3. Practice gentle self talk
Remember it’s okay to feel the way you feel be gracious without yourself and with your body because your body does so much for you. Replace , “why am I like this” with “ my body is doing a lot right now .I’m allowed to feel”. Affirmations like this will pass or i am doing my best can be grounding.

4. Move your body, whether it taking a walk or a jog or it can just be stretching. Avoid intense work as these might cause burnouts

5. ⁠nourish with intention
Taking in a lot of fluids especially water .I read an article where it was saying drinking lots of water helps with clearing the flow a bit more quicker since water is a cleanser .Eat lots of greens like spinach which is rich in magnesium and dark chocolate and bananas . This explains why we crave chocolate because body needs more magnesium at this time

The Ruvheneko Mental Health Advocates family joins the families affected by the tragic Harare-Chitungwiza accident, our hearts ache with yours during this incredibly difficult time. The loss of 17 precious lives is a profound tragedy that reverberates throughout our community, and we extend our deepest condolences to each and every one of you who has lost a loved one. Please know that you are not alone in your grief; as we are part of the community we stand with you, offering solace and support as you navigate this unimaginable pain.

In the wake of this devastating event, the Ruvheneko Mental Health Advocates Foundation, based in Chitungwiza, is committed to extending comprehensive support to all affected families. Recognizing the immense emotional toll such a tragedy takes, the Foundation in collaboration with other organizations and individual practitioners will be providing grief counseling sessions and ongoing support completely free of charge. These sessions are designed to offer a safe and compassionate space for individuals and families to process their grief, develop coping mechanisms, and begin the healing journey. The Foundation understands that grief is a complex and personal process, and our dedicated team of mental health professionals is prepared to offer tailored support to meet the unique needs of each family.
