We’re pleased to let families know that FluMist (nasal flu vaccine) is now available at our clinic for young children 💙

🌟 Meet the Team 🌟

Hi everyone 😊

I’m Saba, one of the Registered Nurses here at Blackwood Medical Centre. I really enjoy working in the clinic, meeting new people, and helping our patients feel comfortable and well cared for.

I have experience working as a Registered Nurse in oncology overseas, and later in Australia in aged care and at the RAH. It’s so lovely to now be part of this amazing team—it truly feels like the right place for me.

Outside of work, I love trying new recipes and spending time outdoors with my family.

We are delighted to welcome Year 3, 5, and 6 medical students at Blackwood Family Medical Centre as part of their clinical training.

These future doctors are gaining valuable hands-on experience as they progress through their medical degrees and will be spending time with our GPs and healthcare team to further develop their clinical knowledge and skills. During their placement, you may see them sitting in during consultations or assisting our doctors under supervision.

Our practice is proud to support the training of the next generation of doctors, and we thank our wonderful patients for helping create such a welcoming and supportive learning environment.

☀️ Melanoma March – Protect Your Skin, Protect Your Health ☀️

March is Melanoma Awareness Month, a timely reminder of the importance of protecting your skin and checking for changes. Australia has one of the highest rates of melanoma in the world, but early detection can save lives.

Melanoma is a serious form of skin cancer that can develop from a new spot or an existing mole. The good news is that when detected early, treatment is often very effective.

What can you do to protect yourself?
🧴 Apply SPF 50+ sunscreen daily
👒 Wear a hat, sunglasses, and protective clothing
🌳 Seek shade, especially between 10am–4pm
🔍 Regularly check your skin for new or changing spots

Know the signs:
Look for moles or spots that change in size, shape, or colour, or anything that looks different from the rest. If you notice something unusual, it’s important to have it checked by your GP.

Our doctors are here to help with skin checks and advice on skin cancer prevention. Early detection really can make all the difference.

We would like to let our community know that Dr Kamila Wilczynska is currently on maternity leave.

March is Hearing Awareness Month, and to support this, we are hosting a Free Hearing Test Clinic at Blackwood Family Medical Centre!

When: Monday 30th March 2026
Who: Patients aged 18 and over only

We’ve partnered with Attune Hearing to offer free hearing tests. Hearing loss can develop gradually, and early signs are easy to miss. Early testing helps identify issues before they begin to affect your daily life and social connections.

Appointments are 10 to 20 minutes with the technician for the hearing check, followed by a review of your results with your doctor. Spots are limited, so book early to secure your appointment.

We’re pleased to introduce Dr Flora Onyeizugbo, an independent tenant GP at Blackwood Family Medical Clinic with special interests in skin cancer medicine and cosmetic treatments.

Dr Flora is a Vocationally Registered GP (FRACGP) and Fellow of the Australasian College of Aesthetic Medicine (FACAM). She provides comprehensive care ranging from everyday general practice — including women’s health, children’s health, mental health and WorkCover — to advanced skin and cosmetic services.
