🌟 Meet Nada – Our Registered Nurse

Hi everyone, I’m Nada – a Registered Nurse here at Blackwood Family Medical Centre.

I’ve been nursing for seven years, with the last two spent in general practice – a role I truly love. No two days are the same, and that’s what makes it so rewarding. From immunisations and wound care to care plans and helping patients work towards their health goals, I enjoy the variety that each day brings.

What I love most about my role is the opportunity to connect with people and make a positive difference in their lives. Whether it's a quick chat or ongoing support, being part of someone’s health journey is a privilege.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mum of three and enjoy spending time with my husband and kids – whether it’s shopping trips, weekend adventures, or simply enjoying a coffee while walking along the beach.

Nursing is not just my job – it’s my passion. I’m incredibly grateful to be part of a team that genuinely cares for our community every day.

If you’ve visited our clinic recently, you’ve likely been greeted by the warm smile and friendly voice of Rhiannan, our incredible medical receptionist.

Rhiannan is truly the heart of our front desk – always ready to help with a kind word, a helpful hand, and a calm, caring presence. Whether she’s booking appointments, answering your calls, or making sure everything runs smoothly at reception, Rhiannan does it all with professionalism and compassion.

A few things to know about Rhiannan:

She’s a proud mum of two beautiful young daughters who keep her on her toes outside of work.

She’s a fan of country music, loves the summer sunshine, and plays netball for Tailem Bend.

Her favourite holiday destination? Spain!

She’s a pro at juggling a busy schedule and making it look effortless!

Patients often comment on how welcomed and comfortable she makes them feel.

We're excited to introduce one of our dedicated team members, Dr. Justyna Powierza.

Since joining Blackwood in 2020, Dr. Powierza has become a valued part of our team. She is passionate about teaching and mentoring medical students, always keen to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for quality patient care.

It’s Heart Health Week this week from 5-11th May. A national week to help individuals focus on their heart health. We offer heart health checks wand management plans which are bulk billed and include an ECG, so book in with your regular GP and nurse and never a skip a BEAT.
