Hello, I’m Tanya. I’m excited to be a part of the Back in Balance Chiropractic team on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. I am a bit of a crazy cat lady, with a couple of cats at home and have spent time volunteering with the RSPCA. I recently added a Border Collie puppy in to the family. It has certainly brought some more chaos and laughter. I love hearing people’s stories, watching soccer and football and visiting different cafes. I hope to put a smile on someone’s face each day.

Amy, our new remedial massage therapist, had her first day in Clinic today! 💆‍♀️ My name is Amy Magarey. I am a Remedial Massage Therapist bringing my business, Oxalis Remedial Massage, to the wonderful hub of Paije and her team at Back In Balance Chiropractic.

Having always being fascinated with the musculature, mechanics and mystery of the body, I was fortunate to fall into a job I still love five years on from graduating.

Described by clients as a highly intuitive, skilled and genuinely compassionate practitioner, I hold a safe space without judgement, providing those on my table with a gentle guiding approach to help create a connection back to their body.

I love to treat hip and lower back pain, leg tension, upper back and neck issues, provide headache relief, and somatic support to nervous systems enduring chronic stress or illness.

My massage style is a combination of relaxation and remedial (ie. Trigger Point Therapy), with the use of breath work and sports techniques. If remedial massage has ever felt like it overrode your pain thresholds or overwhelmed your focus, I offer a space where your nervous system can be at ease whilst I actively treat discomfort and dysfunction in a manageable and sustainable way.

Today's Merilyn's last day with us! After an incredible 7-year journey, she's decided to slow down and enjoy life. We'll miss her, but are excited to see what her next chapter brings! 🌺

Happy Pup Post! 🐶 🎉🐶

Peggy-Sue, a 16 year old border collie, was in an incident 2 weeks prior involving a car trailer. She presented to the clinic, last week, being carried in by her owner unable to walk, particularly on her left hind leg. Upon examination Peggy-Sue was showing signs of nerve damage. Dr Paije discussed this with the owner, as well as obtaining some pain relief for her. Peggy-Sue was treated with very gentle mobilisations to her spine, massage and laser. Today, Peggy-Sue walked into the clinic! 🐾 She was still limping but able to weight bear on her left leg. Her sensation in the left foot had also improved. We hope to be able to continue to improve her condition in the coming weeks.

This week marks the end of an era! Karen is retiring after an incredible 10-year journey with Back in Balance. We also bid farewell to Carolyn, who’s moving on to amazing new adventures with the government after 5 incredible years with us. We’re sad to see them go but excited for what’s next!

Dr Paije and Dr Alison had an afternoon of professional development today as part of Women’s Health Week on Pelvic pain syndrome with an emphasis on Endometriosis. - 1 in 7 women suffer from endometriosis
- Diagnosis takes an average of 6.5 years
- 1/3rd of women suffering from endometriosis also suffer from mental health issues.
Dr Kylie Booth, a GP at Thrive Family Practice had extensive knowledge of the condition and presented an interesting informative lecture for us.
