Welcome Back Dr Rachel Inbanathan!!!

We are excited to have a familiar face returning to Stratford Medical Centre. If you are looking for a friendly, efficient, energetic doctor, look no further.

Dr Rachel is seeing NEW & Existing patients, and will be staying in Cairns long term.

Dr. Rachel Inbanathan was born and raised in Penang, Malaysia, completed her studies in 2012 when she graduated from Uni of NSW. She received her GP Specialist registration in 2021.

Rachel has worked in Canberra, Sydney, regional NSW, regional Victoria, London and Sydney, and moved to Cairns in 2019. Rachel enjoys all aspects of general practice, runs on time, and likes getting things done.

Rachel is focused on patient centered care, always encouraging her patients to take ownership of their health to try and live their best life.
Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, museums, taekwondo, reading, playing with dogs, dabbling in the arts. Rachel also speaks Malay and Tamil.

If you are under 15 years old, or hold a Health Care Card, there will no longer be a financial barrier to accessing healthcare at Stratford Medical Centre.

We always bulk bill DVA veterans too.

We can do phone and secure video link so you don't even have to leave home. If it isn't eligible for Medicare rebate, we can still do a consult with a flat fee.

We are thrilled to introduce Dr Tom, the newest member of our Stratford Medical Centre family. He is new to the Stratford area and is starting with us this Monday, 20th January!

Dr Tom brings a compassionate, patient-centred approach to healthcare. His journey has taken him from Sydney, where he grew up, to working in Darwin and Timor-Leste, where he gained invaluable experience, before moving to Cairns to complete his GP training.

Now, he’s excited to call Stratford home and to build long-term relationships with our patients.

✨ What Makes Dr Tom Special? He enjoys all aspects of General Practice, but what truly sets him apart is his dedication to taking the time to listen, understand, and provide personalised care tailored to your needs.

And available without having to wait?

We are delighted to announce Dr Livia Sipetean has joined Stratford Medical Centre providing telehealth consultations to support our local community and GPs in Cairns who are super busy. Dr Livia will provide medical care via video or phone consultation, with the back up of being seen in person locally if required by our GPs.

Dr Livia is an Australian trained doctor with a specialist GP fellowship with RACGP in 2021. She completed her MBBS in Romania in 1998, migrated to Australia in 2008 and has been living in NQ since 2013.
While trained as a doctor in both hemispheres, she is passionate about the holistic approach of rural general practice and she loves to be called a Family Doctor.

Dr Livia's special interests and extra qualifications are Women’s Health (2013 Sydney), Mental Health (2014 Sydney), Skin cancer surgery (2018 Brisbane), Employment medicals (2022, Brisbane), recent experience in Urgent care clinics (Townsville 2024), as well as supervising and training GP Registrars, Overseas Trained Doctors and Medical students since 2013.

Dr Livia has a special interest in Mental Health and has accreditation as an AACBT Cognitive Behavioural Therapist as well as Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice. She is a member of Australian Society of Psychological medicine and is qualified in Medical Hypnosis through the College of Medical Hypnosis. She is also experienced in Women's health and pregnancy support services.

Dr Livia also has a comprehensive understanding of the Aboriginal culture, working for an Indigenous Health Service in Qld in 2024.

In her spare time, Dr Livia enjoys gardening, travelling, fishing and cooking international cuisine.
She has three adult children, a daughter living in Australia and two sons in Europe.

We welcome consultations for those all around Australia including rural areas. Medicare rebates are applicable for relevant consultations (such as Mental Health and Sexual Health) and private consultations are available to all, if Medicare does not provide a rebate.
