Our Story

After living in Rajasthan in India for four years with her Indian partner, Caron, the practitioner, witnessed on many occasions the incredible healing powers of Ayurveda on the local people. It was as a result of these experiences in India, and her own mother’s illness, that she decided to study Ayurveda for herself. She has been trained and is mentored by internationally known Vaidya Dr Ajit Singh, and has gained the qualification of Advanced Diploma in Ayurveda. When opening her own practice, she decided to give the clinic the name “Akshaya”, which is a Sanskrit word meaning “eternal, immortal, everlasting, indestructible”. This name is in fact very appropriate and meaningful to her.

Caron is a member of the International Council of Ayurvedic Medicine (ICAM), the Australasian Association of Ayurveda (AAA) and the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA). She is constantly updating her skills with on-going professional development. Our beautiful therapy room is located in a wonderful natural setting in the peace and quiet of the hills behind Clifton Beach in Cairns. All treatments and equipment are authentic, traditional and very effective. Caron has achieved outstanding results for clients with many different health issues. Some health insurance rebates are available.
