People who are at a higher risk from getting very sick from the flu can now get their free flu vaccination.

Free flu vaccinations are available to you if you are:
◾ Pregnant
◾ Aged 65 years or older
◾ An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person aged 6 months and older
◾ A person with certain underlying medical conditions, aged 6 months and older
◾ Experiencing homelessness
◾ A child aged 6 months to under 5 years

Meningococcal infection, although rare, is serious and potentially life threatening. It can cause severe scarring, loss of limbs, brain damage and even death.

Protect yourself by getting vaccinated.

The meningococcal B and ACWY vaccines are free for anyone under the age of 20 years. You can still get vaccinated if you are older, but you will need to pay for the vaccine.

Speak to your GP or immunisation provider about getting vaccinated.
