Tweed Hospital Auxiliary

Tweed Hospital Auxiliary UHA motto: "Let us hold high the lamp of service for the welfare of our hospitals and health facilities."

We are the Tweed branch of the United Hospital Auxiliaries (UHA) of NSW. The Tweed Auxiliary has been raising funds to support patients and medical staff in our local Tweed Heads Hospital for over 75years. We now continue this role in the wonderful new Tweed Valley Hospital located at Kingscliff. Every year the hospital provides us a ‘wish list’ of equipment and items that they are unable to purchase through their regular budget allocation. This may be things such as special medical equipment requested by NUMs in different wards, as well as comfort items for patients and staff for all general health care needs. We fundraise through our gift shop located in the hospital, raffles, craft and cake stalls, BBQs, market days, and many other events across the Tweed area throughout the year. All net fundraising profit benefits our local community.

Prior to Christmas, the Auxiliary was donated some toys by a generous community member, Deb James, to be distributed to children who may be in hospital over the Christmas period. Assistant Director of Nursing, Clare Rees & Paediatric Nurse Unit Manager, Reshmi Rathi Kumari shown here were very grateful for this donation and hopefully some little people's day was made brighter on receiving them. Tweed Hospital Auxiliary members ran the TVH staff Christmas BBQ on Thursday 18th. Even Santa and his elf popped in to lend a hand. It was a great success due to the efforts of our coordinators Jennifer, Steve and Jean and generous members who worked hard to cook and serve 750 sausages and over 500 drinks. Well done team and happy Christmas!

Today at Tweed Mall, two of our wonderful Auxiliary members, Barb & Kelly, launched our Christmas Raffle campaign. There's a fabulous first prize of $1000 to be won, 2nd $400, 3rd a Christmas Hamper full of goodies and 4th prize a $100 Bunnings voucher. Tickets are only $5 and will be on sale now until 18th December every day at the Gift Shop at Tweed Valley Hospital and at the following venues on numerous days over the next 6 weeks:
