This one stopped me in my tracks 💔
I recently saw an 18 month old at daycare and found enamel hypoplasia. A tooth that’s weaker and more likely to break down if not supported early.
Mum told me she had already asked her dentist… and was told to wait until 2 or even older.
But what if she waited?
That tooth could have broken down further and she wouldn’t have even known why.
I’m seeing this more and more. Parents being told to wait until 3 or 4 for a first dental visit.
But early checks aren’t about drilling or treatment.
They’re about:
• spotting things early
• protecting what’s there
• guiding growth
• supporting breathing, sleep and development
If your child has teeth, they can be seen.
Not all providers see little ones, but there are clinicians who do. Gently, playfully, and with prevention first.
Early doesn’t mean scary.
Early means giving your child the best start 💛
