A Memorial offers families the flexibility to celebrate a loved one’s life in a way that feels personal. One memorial I conducted was held at twilight, with a champagne toast and the scattering of bougainvillea petals in the garden – a beautiful moment of remembrance.

Voluntary Assisted Dying adds another layer of complexity to funeral arrangements for some families. Not everyone feels the same way about this choice, and at times there can even be differing views among mourners.

As with every ceremony I conduct, I work closely with families to ensure all wishes are met, the wording is carefully considered, and the service reflects your loved one’s life with dignity and compassion.

A memorial service can be a beautiful way to honour a loved one – whether held in a favourite place, on a family property, or in conjunction with a funeral home service.

One I officiated at, that touched my heart, was for a country-based family, where guests gently placed rose petals from one copper platter into another before all the grandchildren walked the property, creating a pathway of petals. It was a simple, heartfelt gesture that reflected the family’s love and connection.

I can help you create a memorial that truly reflects the personality and passions of the person being remembered – with thoughtful touches that make the day meaningful for everyone present.

We are often quick to criticise but not so quick to praise....I would like to thank Kevin the conductor and Steve the FDA from Bowra & Odea who were part of a very beautiful , family only burial we officiated at last week......their gentle compassion and respect shown to the family was above and beyond...thanks Guys it was a pleasure working with you...and thanks for looking after me too!❤🙏

A Memorial is a space to honour a life – quietly, beautifully, and in your own time. I help families shape these moments privately, or with their chosen funeral home, in ways that truly reflect the one they loved.

I recently heard an interview where a subtle implication was made that families need to be careful that whilst in their vulnerable state of grief they not being ripped off when making funeral arrangements for their loved ones. As someone who has been in the funeral industry as a former arranger and now as a celebrant for over 12 years and with over 2000 funerals to my name I would like to say ....the funeral industry is a business like any other...doctors. lawyers consultants..etc.......everyone has their over heads and staff to pay and cannot be a charitable organization no matter how much empathy they have for the family ... I have seen funeral directors go over and above for families......reducing costs as much as possible according to their wishes and financial circumstance and if not able have passed the family on to a funeral home that can accommodate their needs ..and funeral celebrants who have given their time at no cost especially when children or babies have died. Memorials and family wishes for memorabilia to be displayed and included in the ceremony are also respected and freely offered by the funeral arrangers many of whom have a creative but deeply respectful flair for the funeral. .....however there are protocols time constraints and 'rules and regulations which must be adhered to......as they are in all professional industries.❤🙏

Appreciated receiving Kevin's kind words recently on behalf of his family:

“I wish to express my, and whole family’s, absolute gratitude with the way you managed the whole service process yesterday.

The way it went from our initial meeting at the start to the end with your record of service in the lovely folder was outstanding. All the people I spoke with after were highly impressed with way the service went and flowed.

Could not think of a better way to send off Mum. You played a pivotal role and much appreciated. It was a difficult day, especially for me, but you handled it so professionally. A memorable day.” ~Kevin & family

In response to all the enquiries I am getting today from new funeral celebrants I am happy to arrange a Saturday Q&A round table workshop or a one on one mentoring For further details and expressions of interest PM me.

I will be conducting another funeral celebrant training session along with a mock funeral ceremony in a chapel... especially for those who have only completed an on line course..it is important for you to know the proceedings and the order of service in the chapel and at a burial.....words alone is not enough. Message me for further details and expression of interest

In reply to many questions and " please explains" over past few days about the workshop at a funeral home on Wednesday..."Workshop" was probably a misnomer...it was actually an "opportunity" for existing celebrants to "Strut their stuff" in front of a panel of funeral conductors/.arrangers or as Adrian Barret prefers consultants. As many new (and existing) celebrants are having difficulty getting work I envisaged this a way to open the door. It was never intended as a training course, which I also provide with numerous assignments, and field trips over a number of weeks self paced...and with a fee to match.

Unfortunately owing to circumstances and time constraints I am not able to arrange mock funerals till further notice.❤🌹
