AUM - The sound of creation.

From the Yajur Veda:
In the beginning was Prajapati (Brahman)
With whom was the Word;
And the Word was verily Brahman.

GMCKS said the sound 'AUM' is not exactly the sound of creation. It is our attempt to reproduce, in the physical world, the sound of creation.

According to Bhartṛhari (a linguistic philosopher), sound originates from the Divine.

- In it's highest form, sound is directly perceived, which Bhartrhari called 'seeing' (pashyanti)

- At a lower or middle level, sound is perceived in the mind as thought. This is called madhyama

- At the lowest level, sound becomes speech, vaikhari

Hence, AUM at the level of vaikhari, is our attempt to reproduce the true sound of creation, which is at the pashyanti level.

Another implication of this is that all sounds (and hence all words and languages) are infused with the divine / creative energy as they originate from the Divine. Hence the importance of right speech.

All we really have to do is keep the Teachings pure, spread them, continue purify and improve ourselves and sincerely apply and live the techniques and wisdom of our Teacher. That is our responsibility and in this aspiration we can always rely on His blessings, guidance and mercy. He constantly reaches to guide, protect and bless us. All we have to do is trust in the Teacher and take the hand he is offering to us.
