ART IN PROCESS Therapy

ART IN PROCESS Therapy Arts Psychotherapy - Anxiety. Depression. Chronic Pain. Complex Trauma. Gender & Cultural Identity It is a low skill high sensitivity approach.

I believe that every person should have a voice, be respected for who they are and how they feel. With ART IN PROCESS Therapy I want to support clients to explore, connect and heal. Clients are provided with a safe space to express their feelings and emotions by engaging with creative modalities (movement & dance, drama, visual imagery and creative writing) to nurture self-actualisation. Therefore it is neither expected nor a requirement for clients to have any creative skills to benefit from this therapeutic practice. ABOUT ME: I had always an interest in the healing qualities of art making. In my role as an artist, I have longstanding experience of working with others in diverse socio-cultural contexts. During my early studies I focused on the aesthetics of interdisciplinary artforms, especially interested in European postdramatic forms of expression and object/installation theatre. In more recent years I shifted my focus towards Creative Arts Therapies and gained psychotherapeutic skills to underline my artistic expertise, which informs my overall work with clients. LET ME KNOW ABOUT YOU: I am available for individual sessions on request at the moment. Please contact me to discuss further. Group sessions can be organised. Children, Youth and Adults. Sessions are kept person-centred. Use of various modalities is adjusted to age group and presenting issues.

Arts therapy is a psychotherapy that is action-based.
This means that we have, other than the talking, other tools and mediums that we can use for our self-expression.

It is about the relationship, deepening that relationship through a felt sense. And that felt sense we can create through using and adopting other materials that we use in that process of self-exploration.

When we use arts therapy as an action-based approach, it is about creating a felt sense. We use a lot of different materials that we can touch and feel and actually activate our senses. This gives us an understanding of the relationship that we are building between client and therapist and can deepen our understanding of a particular issue.

It serves a broad range of issues and it is really about giving another way or fostering another way of feeling communication. For example, through the touch and activation of our senses, when we doing something tactile and feeling something with our fingers, our whole body.

Art therapy is definitely NOT something particular for people who come with artistic skills into the session.
It is something that anyone can do. Anyone can actually benefit from art therapy because it fosters your imagination and your creative side. It fosters a rethinking and a reprocessing of issues that you're experiencing in your daily life and creates different perspectives.
