Final tune-up session last week for Before his 12/12/12 endurance challenge event this coming weekend. Daz will be swimming for 12 hours this Saturday, resting for 12 hours, and then running for 12 hours on Sunday whilst fundraising for charity.

When he first came to see me around 10 months ago, with the goal of wanting to undertake this challenge, I thought he was slightly crazy. He was already a super active guy at the time between jiu-jitsu, strength training, running, and swimming, with very good fitness base, so it does seem realistic for him to get there with the appropriate training and management along the way.

The first thing we did with Daz is put in a good running-based lower body strength program to help build a solid musculoskeletal foundation for all the running and the load his body was about to endure.

From there, there’s been a lot of work done treatment-wise, both proactively and reactively to make sure things are working as best as possible, staying on top of any niggles and tightness, as well as injury management when issues have arisen, from grappling as well as running itself.

All the best for this weekend mate, you’ve done the work and I know you will smash this challenge 🏊‍♂️🏃‍♂️
