Tomorrow is World Atopic Eczema Day!
Those who know me know my struggles and suffering that came with Eczema from the age of 2 months old ,it progressively got worse as I got older to the point where I couldn’t even put water on my skin , not to mention the torment at school most of which I feel was through the people around me not knowing anything about my condition, maybe if they had they would have been a little kinder.

Education is the key to understanding.

Head over to https://www.eczemasupport.org.au/about-eczema/ to find out more about Eczema they have some great resources and information.

I’m passionate about helping parents of babies and children with eczema to find some relief from the physical and mental symptoms that come with it.

Please reach out if you would like to know more about how I can help .

It’s been a really sad and trying start to the year with the loss of 4 beautiful people in my life and my eldest daughter moving to the other side of the country.
It’s times like these that we reflect try and make sense of the things that are happening and most importantly take care of ourselves and each other.
Thank you all for your patience I have been working hard and making some changes behind the scenes and will be back to it after the Easter break.
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter with your loved ones , hold them tight and cherish your time together .
Stay safe and eat lots of chocolate

Sorry to say I’ve been a bit MIA over the last few weeks. I’ve been helping a very dear friend through the fight of her life which she sadly lost on Valentine’s Day. Over the next few weeks we’ll be saying goodbye and helping the daughter that she has so sadly left behind to navigate life without her beautiful Mumma who she has so gracefully been caring for over the last few years. Rubs for Bubs will be back in action asap . Thank you for understanding x Clare

The Roos are on to something 🦘 Kangaroo care also known as skin to skin contact can be the first step in your infant massage journey. Used in the NICU for premature babies once baby is stable, Kangaroo care regulates both babies temperature and heartbeat . Mum and Dad are both encouraged to participate in Kangaroo care helping with the bonding process. Research shows that pre term infants that receive touch therapy and massage gain weight faster and are discharged from hospital earlier than others.

A little history for your friday afternoon.
Infant massage has been used in many countries for many years dating back to china in 2700BC .
In the 1970’s there was a woman by the name of Vimala McClure travelled to India to become a Yoga teacher while there she worked in an orphanage and noticed that the children there were so warm and friendly and so relaxed and were thriving even with poor nutrition , she also learned that it was customary for the babies in the orphanage to be massaged daily , this got her thinking and Vimala learnt the massage technique used and took that back with her to the USA where she started teaching in 1977 after the birth and successfully seeing the results of infant massage on her own child who suffered with colic.
Infant massage is not a new fad but a tried and tested skill that will give endless results and precious one on one time with your baby.

Welcome to Rubs For Bubs! Our studio is located in Canning Vale in the Southern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.

My name is Clare, the owner of Rubs for Bubs. I'm a married mother of two amazing grown up girls both still living at home and carving their own way through life.

I have a background in hospitality management and Massage Therapy for the last 20 years. After sustaining an injury, I had to look at reshaping my career. While combining my massage knowledge and the want to help people, I came across a career educating and passing on my knowledge to both give confidence and empower new parents with skills that will not only be beneficial to their babies and children but for parents and carers alike. In 2021 I retrained as an Infant Massage Instructor and a Paediatric Massage Consultant.

As you read through my website, many questions will be answered about the benefits and processes of learning Infant Massage. It is definitely a skill that I wish I had the opportunity to learn as a new mum.
