Our next MAFS Group (Meeting A Friend Socially), in partnership with VisAbility, is just around the corner – and this time, we’re heading to Siena's of Leederville for a night of delicious Italian food and great company.

Hosted by VisAbility Speech Pathologists, Alex and Emily, this monthly meet-up is all about creating a relaxed space where young people and school leavers can build confidence in social settings, strengthen communication skills, and make genuine friendships with peers at a similar stage in life.

Our popular LEGO® Group sessions are now called Social Builders Group Therapy – and they’re back for the new year!

Across four exciting sessions, kids aged 6–10 years will come together to create incredible LEGO® builds while learning essential social and communication skills. It’s all about collaboration, confidence, and creativity in a fun and supportive environment.

Facilitated by our experienced therapists, children will:
🌀 Build friendships and teamwork skills
🌀 Strengthen fine motor skills and problem-solving
🌀 Practice turn-taking and working towards shared goals

🐶Let’s Play Pretend 🤠

Dog-Assisted Therapy at Kites Children’s Therapy isn’t just about cuddles and tail wags (although they are a big perk!) - it’s also a powerful way to help children build social and emotional skills through pretend play. With the support of our highly trained and intuitive dogs, kids are encouraged to imagine, role-play, and interact in creative ways that boost communication, empathy, and confidence.

Whether it’s pretending to be a vet, getting dressed for an adventure, or packing for a camping trip, these playful moments help children learn to take turns, read social cues, and express themselves freely. And it's a lot of fun!

Kites - Our Story

At Kites, we provide personalised early intervention support, advice and solutions that transform the lives of kids living with disability or developmental challenges. We enable kids – and their families – to look to the future with confidence. A future filled with possibilities.

As part of the VisAbility family, we bring together specialists, therapists and experts from across the disability and childhood development spectrum. Then, working together – with families, as a family – we build a support network and solution specifically for each child, delivering tailored advice and support as early as possible, when it can make the biggest difference to their lives.

The solutions we develop are as unique as the kids and families we work with, and as diverse as the disabilities and developmental difficulties they live with. And that’s really the point. The Kites team is whatever families need.

We help kids grow – physically, emotionally, intellectually – and live life to the full. We help parents understand how best to help their children thrive. We provide answers and a plan for the future. We provide a sense of certainty at an uncertain, often overwhelming time. And in doing so, we set each child on the path to living a rich and rewarding life. In the community. On their terms.
