Early movement matters. Physiotherapy plays a key role in supporting a child’s development from the very beginning. 🤸

At Kites Children's Therapy, we’re committed to helping children reach their full potential through early intervention and personalised support.

Our dedicated team of Physiotherapists work with your family to develop strategies for positioning, carrying and encouraging your child’s overall motor development.

Do you notice any of these signs in your child?

Week 2025 is here – join us in celebrating the rich cultures, histories, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders. 💪🧒

At Kites Children’s Therapy, we see that strength every day in the determination of a child learning to communicate, or in the confidence built through play. We are committed to nurturing the next generation, ensuring our young leaders reach their fullest potential.

Because when we invest in our children, we honour generations past, and help build the legacy of those to come. ❤️💛🖤

Is your toddler on the move, but maybe a little wobbly? 🤸‍♀️
From wobbly steps to confident climbs, toddlerhood (1-3 years) is a time of big movement and even bigger milestones!

Our expert paediatric physiotherapists help toddlers build strength, coordination, and confidence through every stage of their physical development.

🔹 Walking smoothly and independently
🔹 Attempting to run
🔹 Jumping in place with both feet (around 18–24 months)
🔹 Climbing furniture safely
🔹 Balancing while walking and running
🔹 Kicking a ball forward

If your little one is skipping, struggling, or slow to meet these milestones, our physios are here to help with fun, play-based therapy that gets results. 💪

Meet Crystal Chan, Our New Business Manager Client Services. 👋

We’re excited to welcome back Crystal Chan to the VisAbility family. With over 10 years of experience at VisAbility before expanding her career with MSWA, Crystal brings deep knowledge, energy, and heart to her new role.

A qualified Occupational Therapist, Crystal’s interest in vision services first piqued during a university placement at the Association for the Blind Malaysia. She began her journey with us in the Independent Living Services team, supporting clients through home visits and Assistive Technology recommendations. As the NDIS rolled out, Crystal stepped into project work and later led the Kites Children’s Therapy team as Program Manager. This breadth of experience across our organisation, gives her a unique perspective across both children’s and adult services.

Now, she’s excited to reconnect with familiar faces and support our Client Services team in continuing to improve service delivery for our community.

Outside of work, Crystal is a proud mum of two (ages 13 and 10), loves family travel – especially back to Malaysia once a year – and is exploring the UK next!

Welcome back, Crystal. We’re so glad to have you with us again. ❤️

On Wednesday 16 April, VisAbility and Kites Children's Therapy had the opportunity to attend the City of Vincent's Unstoppable Youth Week Event - a day filled with sports, arts and fun! 🤸‍♂️⚽

It was great to meet with young people and families in the area, chatting about all things social (MAFS Group and LEGO Group), employment (COACT and STEP Into Work) and Guide Dogs WA.

We also had the opportunity to meet with NDIS Local Area Coordinators from Mission Australia, the camps teams from Cahoots and our friends at Blind Sports WA. Big thank you to the City of Vincent for pulling it all together! 👏

Kites - Our Story

At Kites, we provide personalised early intervention support, advice and solutions that transform the lives of kids living with disability or developmental challenges. We enable kids – and their families – to look to the future with confidence. A future filled with possibilities.

As part of the VisAbility family, we bring together specialists, therapists and experts from across the disability and childhood development spectrum. Then, working together – with families, as a family – we build a support network and solution specifically for each child, delivering tailored advice and support as early as possible, when it can make the biggest difference to their lives.

The solutions we develop are as unique as the kids and families we work with, and as diverse as the disabilities and developmental difficulties they live with. And that’s really the point. The Kites team is whatever families need.

We help kids grow – physically, emotionally, intellectually – and live life to the full. We help parents understand how best to help their children thrive. We provide answers and a plan for the future. We provide a sense of certainty at an uncertain, often overwhelming time. And in doing so, we set each child on the path to living a rich and rewarding life. In the community. On their terms.
